"Celebrity" Page Contest Raises Funds for Scrap Pink

This gorgeous roll-along suitcase is our Scrap Pink Door Prize. It is filled with over $70 in scrapbooking supplies. Free tickets for the drawing will be given with every purchase, and to each cropper each day. Croppers will have the opportunity to win tickets all weekend long and the drawing will be held Sunday evening. You need not be present to win.

We've had beautiful submissions from our celebrities, come and see these pages for yourself and vote for your favorites with your spare change.

First up is Physician's Assistant Donna Calzone, who will be our speaker this weekend as we celebrate Scrap Pink. She and her co-workers at Dr. Cuteri's office journaled about their Relay For Life team.

Our second layout is from WTNH's Dr. Mel, a tireless cancer fundraiser. Dr. Mel's page was created by his friend and colleague Desiree Fontaine.

#3 is from Rick Raucci who runs Milford's Relay for Life.

Our fourth entry is from Milford Mayor James Richetelli, and is a tribute his his friend and mentor, former Milford Mayor Fred Lisman.

Last, but not least, is Stefanie Lapetina, a reaseacher and breast cancer survivor. Her page depicts how she saves her "hoots".

The pages will be on display at momento through the end of October, please come by and see them!

Nice Message from a Nice Person

Dear Ellen,
I attended your Friday night crop on xx/xx/08 and had a great time. For me it had been over a year since I had done any scrapbooking. It was fun as well as relaxing. I even had an opportunity to meet another scrapper whom I initially met in Bethel over a year ago...small world!
On March xx, I lost my best friend which was my "mom" and at first I was hesitant to come with so much on my mind but once I got there and chatted a little, I felt more relaxed. Please extend a big thanks to Maggie (she's a nut) for without her I would not have even gotten close to completing my 1st page. (LOL ). I did not have an idea in mind when I walked through your door, nor a paper cutter. She not only shared hers with me but more importantly made me feel as though I was welcomed and that she was there to lend a helping hand. I cannot begin to tell you how important that is in the world today of "non customer service". She is definitely on my top 5 list of "nice people" and I will always be grateful for her kindness.
Okay, enough of that mushy stuff...I just wanted to let you know that your place is great and I look forward to another event real soon.
Thanks,
Pattie

Handy Dandy Mini-Book

I had so many photos from Daniel's Blues Clues-themed 3rd birthday party that I decided to make a min-album rather than have a slew of pages in my chronological album - and I knew right away it had to be a Handy Dandy notebook.

I used the Zutter Clipboards for my covers (note to self, cut the holes before adding several layers of cardstock) and covered chipboard for the interior pages. I downloaded a Blues Clues coloring page of the Thinking Chair, printed it on red cardstock and cut it out for my cover. A red Zutter Bind-It-All coil and some stickers I'd been saving since 1999 completed my project.

There Was Cake!

Our Birthday Retreat was great! Liz and Rose got a head start on the festivities by moving in first thing Friday morning with a boatload of supplies. Dumbledore, of course, had to investigate the plethora of totes. Watch out Rose, he's got an eye on your pens!

Here's a note we got from Liz afterwards:

Ellen-just wanted to say thanks for a great crop, and awesome birthday gift! The food was great, as well as the snacks to keep us going. Had a great weekend- Tell Maggie thanks, she is so much fun! Liz
