Handy Dandy Mini-Book

I had so many photos from Daniel's Blues Clues-themed 3rd birthday party that I decided to make a min-album rather than have a slew of pages in my chronological album - and I knew right away it had to be a Handy Dandy notebook.

I used the Zutter Clipboards for my covers (note to self, cut the holes before adding several layers of cardstock) and covered chipboard for the interior pages. I downloaded a Blues Clues coloring page of the Thinking Chair, printed it on red cardstock and cut it out for my cover. A red Zutter Bind-It-All coil and some stickers I'd been saving since 1999 completed my project.

There Was Cake!

Our Birthday Retreat was great! Liz and Rose got a head start on the festivities by moving in first thing Friday morning with a boatload of supplies. Dumbledore, of course, had to investigate the plethora of totes. Watch out Rose, he's got an eye on your pens!

Here's a note we got from Liz afterwards:

Ellen-just wanted to say thanks for a great crop, and awesome birthday gift! The food was great, as well as the snacks to keep us going. Had a great weekend- Tell Maggie thanks, she is so much fun! Liz
PS Thanks Daniel for helping to carry our bags in!

What Inspires Us

Daiana stopped by to share this gift, made for her by her good friend Bridget Kendall as a going away present when Bridget left the school where they worked together.

Bridget snuck around gathering goodbye messages from Daiana's co-workers and students, and assembled this recipe box scrapbook. Each card has a photograph with a message from that person on the back.

What a simple project to make and what a thoughtful way to say goodbye!

Where Else But Momento?

On any given day, you can walk into our Creative Studio and see people happily at work on their projects. For the last week or so, siblings Patty and Dave Metzger have been working on a display board for their parents' 50th anniversary party.

Creative "Momentor" Maggie helped them pick out papers and embellishments, and lay out their board. They used some of the tools available in the Studio, cutting letters with one of our many Sizzix alphabets, and using a corner punch to make decorative mats for their photos. With the help of our Epson Scrapbook Central we were able to scan and repair a wonderful photo of their parents dressed for a formal event - we love the poufy dress Mom! We had fun watching them create the board and a guest book for the party, and even feel like we know the family now.

A friendly face is always on hand to help you with your projects, so stop by the Creative Studio anytime!
