Winterfair Gifts
I took the name from a short story set in the universe of some of my favorite books.
The "gifts" consist of a multi-strand necklace with crystal, pearls and rhinestones, a pair of earrings and a bracelet. The pearls and rhinestones are re-purposed vintage pieces (I've been haunting tag sales looking for vintage costume jewelry).
Long before I heard the Mythbusters say it, my motto was "anything worth doing is worth over-doing".

| Bracelet detail: I snipped off the pin mechanism from this small rhinestone crown and glued on a bail to convert it to a charm. |

| I bent the earring post on the rhinestones to make a loop so I could add them to the earrings. |

Variations Necklace plus
When I was in California, I took a class at my favorite beadstore, Beadology, with Leslie Frumin, to make her wonderful Variations necklace. I chose to do my project in sea greens and blues, and made some earrings, a ring and medic alert bracelet.

Crafty Weekend
I made a bunch of jewelry over the past couple of days, using bits and pieces from Industrial Chic. I had a great deal of fun playing with washers and nuts and stuff. I made four necklaces, three bracelets, a pair of mismatched earrings, a thingie for my medic alert, and a ring.
The mini handcuffs and the bead chain with license plate and key came from an antique shop, but everything else is Industrial Chic.

Blue Funk Necklace and Earrings
My aunt gave me a broken shard of flow blue pottery, and I've been playing with it for months. Mostly I designed it by changing stitches when I got bored!

Drunkards Weave Bracelet
I've been taking lots of classes lately, but haven't gotten many of the projects finished - thus the dearth of photos lately. Here's a bracelet I finished recently. I took the class for this at Beadology - they have the best classes! The instructions (and instructor) were phenomenal.

Two Wire Classes This Weekend
I took two classes at Beadology in Huntington Beach this weekend, and I'm thrilled with the results! Love Knots bracelet on Saturday - I made the knots and the links and the clasp. We bent and wrapped and hammered! Sunday was wire wrapping the handmade glass cabochons. It was tough working with such heavy wire but the results were worth it.

Craft Super Show
The weekend before last, I went to the Craft Super Show. I took classes and went to a crop. I met some very nice ladies that invited me to join them at their great table right at the front by all the action. Top to bottom, left to right: Crystal puffy heart and matching earrings that I made at a local store a couple of weeks ago. Mixed media collage using Makin's Clay. A lovely lady named Sara taught a cool class at the crop, where we altered a Create and Treasure canvas book using Earth Friendly paints and rubber stamps. The crystal and gold bead earring were what I worked on during the crop. The kit came from Beads & Magic Wishes and I bought it at the Gem Faire. The Boho Bead necklace was a class at the Super Show using beads that are going to be available at Michaels this Spring - love the colors. The class was chock full of wire wrapping! Lastly is a crystal puffy heart that I made this weekend using the techniques I learned in the earlier class.

New Hobby
I took a couple of beading classes in MN and fell in love. It's easy to do in front of the TV (unlike scrapbooking, I need lots of space while I'm working), and the results are gorgeous. Plus I love jewelry that coordinates with my outfits.
